A leader of cooperative in Kabumba, who is also a member of Buskuma sub-county council, explained at the council meeting about the training using an awareness raising tool “Rights to Food” made by HFW, and proposed to run projects following this training (Jan). This tool is calling for cultivation of drought resistant crops, tree planting, limitation of pesticides and organic farming in order to realize “Rights to Food”. Members of sub-county council got interested in this tool especially in drought resistant crops. An advocacy tool we made for community members of our project areas has moved the local government, and now there is a possibility of spreading effects to areas outside of the projects.
