Activity Report: Uganda
In Wakiso District near the capital city of Kampala, education program is being organized. People of community contribute materials and labor for the projects. In the future a number of projects we planned, including adult literacy course, agriculture training, vocational training, safe water, and public toilets.

Workshops for women held by women.
Women attended a workshop held in Nakkede parish. |
Women Ending Hunger (WEH) held workshops in the areas where HFW Uganda is active in May 14, 17, 20, and 24, 2004. WEH is a local women’s organization supported by HFW.
281 young and matured women of local residents or officials took part in the workshops. Also, women volunteers carried out the workshops on “Women and HIV/AIDS”, “Leadership and Dignity”, “Food and Nutrition”, “Family Planning”, and “Water, Toilet, and Hygiene”.
Willingness of the participants was high so that new WEHs are underway in 32 areas. Also, requests like men who have power to manage local and household finances should take part in, or school should organize such workshops came up.
