Increased Crop Production Targets Achieved in Pilot Project

In two villages in Gaongo District, teams selected by the residents have been conducting surveys and planning projects. The survey results revealed various challenges, including issues related to "water," "agriculture," and "nutrition." Among these, a pilot project to increase crop yields was agreed upon with the residents and put into action.

To implement the project, HFW signed a cooperation agreement with the Provincial Agricultural Bureau. This agreement not only provided agricultural technical training but also established a system for nearby agricultural officials to visit even during the rainy season when access to the project area is difficult, thereby enabling year-round support. While receiving support, the residents’ groups continued to gather on their own, consulted with each other, and cultivated crops. As a result, harvest conditions were confirmed to be favorable.

Voices from

The Resident

For the past five years, our crop yields have been declining. But thanks to HFW, it looks like we're going to have a very good harvest. We can feel it, and we're seeing it with our own eyes in the fields!

The Staff

The residents are very satisfied with the 2024 project results and are enthusiastic about future long-term initiatives. Before HFW arrived, they had no experience 'doing something together' and didn't know how to hold discussions. Now, however, we hear voices saying, 'If we work together, we can surely overcome hunger,' and women are also actively participating in discussions. There's a growing momentum throughout the community to face even the toughest environments head-on.
