Essay contest was organized for secondary school students. Total of 355 essays were sent from different schools.

Advocacy activities

As a measure to foster the youths who are the leaders of the next generation, HFW Bangladesh held an essay contest on the theme "Bangladesh of 2021 in My Vision." It was a part of the project to promote the vision of HFW Bangladesh, "Creating a self-reliant Bangladesh by 2021."

The contest was announced broadly through newspapers and schools nationwide. Total of 355 essays were sent from 22 high schools all over the country. A university professor, a high rank government official and two NGO personnel judged the contest and chose 40 winners. They received a scholarship of 2,400 taka ( ¥4,320) one year worth of 200 taka per month.

One judge commented that "Students considered the future of this country more profoundly than I imagined. I was much inspired by an excellent essay which criticized the government for not leading the country properly, and the writing filled with strong determination and passion to change the country." The top 10 essays were bound as a book of collective essays and delivered to government officials and teachers throughout the country.
