Let’s cook Ugandan cuisines! HFW Uganda team organize a cooking event called ‘Mulimutya Uganda !’

In every three months, HFW Uganda team organize a cooking event called ‘Mulimutya Uganda !’ at Fujimi-kuminkan, a public facility in Chiyoda-ku Tokyo.

18 people participated in the cooking event on March 7, and they cooked beef and cooking banana stew. Split into four groups, they cooked with Ugandan members and enjoyed each other’s company. They seemed to be very relaxed though they met for the first time.

After they enjoyed their own cooking, The Uganda team introduced the works of HFW and the Ugandan culture while the participants were drinking tea. One participant said that she felt eased after learning that Uganda is not a dangerous country, though she feeling unsecure because her family member is now stationed in Uganda.

Through the communication with Ugandan members and the food, she seemed to feel much closer to Uganda.

The net profit of 24,000 yen from the event will be used for self-support of people in Uganda.

Participants deepened understanding toward Uganda through the introduction of the culture in Uganda.
