“A ha! Bangladesh,” Hunger Free Café with a HFW Bangladesh staff. 15 participants enjoyed it.

The audience felt at home and comfortable

Hunger Free Café was held at HFW office on August 7 where 15 participants both students and adults enjoyed the talk of Anjuman Aktar, a staff of HFW Bangladesh who was in Japan to participate in a training. She spoke on the latest situations in Bangladesh. The event was held informal café style and participants also enjoyed Bangladeshi snacks and tea.

In the part 1 of the event, Anju talked about changes in fashion with slide show such as the length of tunic for salwar (or shalwar) kameeze* getting shorter and shorter. In the second part, the theme was on politics and economy, and the hottest topic was the supreme court’s reconfirming constitutional separation of state and religion. In the third part, HFW’s rural development activities were explained to the audience.

The event was well received by the participants who listened to the topics they can seldom have chance to hear such topics and they felt at home and comfortable. The total sum of participation fee was ¥11,200 and net profit will be used for supporting self-reliance of Bangladeshi people.
