Sample cuisine from across Africa in Kagurazaka Charity Night! Around 40 people gathered in the restaurant.

The enthusiasm in the shop peaked during a quiz about African cuisines!

November 5, the African restaurant Tribes in Kagurazaka, Tokyo, hosted the event "Charity Night: Learning Africa through Food," from which a portion of the proceeds were donated to NGOs. HFW and Action for Greening Sahel, an organization engaged in environmental preservation in Africa, participated in the event as partner organizations.

Food from East to West Africa filled the tables, and a special cocktail made with a locally-distilled spirit from Benin was available. Between 30 and 40 people gathered in the restaurant, and the atmosphere was abuzz with enthusiasm about Africa.

Proceeds of ¥2300 went to the two NGOs in support of their activities in Africa.

Slide shows to introduce HFW’s activities

I feel much closer to Africa by eating their food and drinking their local brew. I want to visit Africa.

It was a very interesting event. Various people participated and I enjoyed in different ways such as listening to specialist’s opinion and making my first international contribution.
